Centennnial Boys, Coronado Girls Win Class 4A Championships By John Dixon for DyeStat 2A – North Tahoe continued its stranglehold in the Class 2A division of Nevada high school cross country, winning the program's 13th girls championship and 23rd boys championship at Rancho San Rafael in Reno. Junior Niklas Pietzke from Incline ran to a 17-second win over Sierra Lutheran’s Teagan Hansen (16:55 to 17:12) to win the boys race. North Tahoe junior Kili Lehmkuhl led her team to a 1-3-4-7 finish in 20:25. Laughlin freshman Laura Quintero was second in 22:27 3A - Valley HS senior Christian Franklin won his second consecutive championship in the meet’s fastest time of 16:33. Tahoe-Truckee senior Montana Montgomery was second in 17:21. Spring Creek junior Kendra Lusk led the Spartans to their sixth State Championship winning in 19:38. Lowry sophomore Jovi Kuskie was 2nd in 20:02. The first six finishers were all underclassmen. 4A - In the upset of the meet, Faith Lutheran senior Raymond Millero came out of a tight pack with 800 meters to go and won in 16:47. Centennial senior Tucker Raymond led the Bulldogs to their sixth state championship placing second in 16:54 Reno junior Penelope Smerdon ran to an individual championship in the meet’s best time of 19:29. Coronado senior Porshe Eismann paced the Cougars to their second state championship finishing second in 19:50.
